This notice explains what personal data we process, why, and what rights you have. The service optimises home electricity consumption against electricity prices and solar forecasts.

The controller is Ideas at Work b.v.. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact: info@ideasatwork.nl.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of sub-processors, each receiving only the minimum needed:

  • ENTSO-E — only your country zone code, to fetch day-ahead electricity prices.
  • Open-Meteo — your coordinates, to fetch a solar and temperature forecast.
  • Home Energy Management System Connection — your HEMS identifyer, to relay the connection to your home system.
  • Your car manufacturer's platform (e.g. Volvo) — the connection you authorise yourself, to fetch car data (charge level, range, odometer, charging status).

We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.

Security

Contact details, vehicle usage data, vehicle identifiers and home connection credentials are encrypted at rest. Passwords are stored only as irreversible hashes.

Consent

For execution of the service we record when consent was given. You may withdraw consent at any time; we then stop processing and, on request, erase your data. You can also withdraw the consent for a manufacturer connection in your account with the manufacturer itself (e.g. the privacy settings of your Volvo account).

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. To exercise any of these, contact us at the address above. You may also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).

Automated decision-making

The Service produces a charging plan and, depending on the mode you choose, sends instructions to your connected systems. That planning is rule-based scheduling and optimisation against electricity prices, solar forecasts, and device data — it does not profile you using machine learning.

We do not take automated decisions that produce a legal effect concerning you or similarly significantly affect you, within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR. You choose how a plan is acted on — advisory (you decide and act yourself), click-to-charge (you confirm each action), or connect-and-charge (the Service acts within limits you set) — you can review a plan before it is acted on, and you can switch off automation at any time in your account settings.

If you believe an instruction was wrong, or want a person to review it, contact us at the address under "Who is responsible" above; we will look into it and, where needed, correct the plan or the setting that produced it.
