Last updated: 2026-08-02 · In case of any difference between the Dutch and English version, the Dutch version prevails.

1. Who we are

Energy AutoPilot ("EAP", "the Service") is provided by ideas at work bv, Braamduin 5, 3768 CG Soest, the Netherlands. Company Registration (KVK) 30146816 · VAT NL806434120B01 · info@ideasatwork.nl.

2. The Service

The Service is an energy management service that, among other things, plans the charging of your electric car(s) based on dynamic energy prices, solar forecasts, and the state of your car and home battery. With your authorisation, the Service reads data from connected systems and sends instructions to connected systems, such as your Home Energy Management System ("HEMS") and your charge point. In doing so, the Service operates strictly within the limits and safeguards set by your car, charge point, and HEMS themselves.

3. Account and access

You keep your account and access details accurate and your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may require additional security measures to protect access and data.

4. Acceptable use

You use the Service solely to manage your own home(s), vehicle(s), and other devices. You do not attempt to access other people's data or systems, disrupt the Service, or circumvent security measures. Violations may lead to suspension or termination of your access and, where appropriate, to a report to the competent authorities. You are responsible for ensuring that your charge point, HEMS, and other connected devices are properly installed in accordance with applicable regulations.

5. Connected systems

Some features only work when you connect your systems, such as your HEMS or your car manufacturer's online platform (e.g. Volvo). The following applies:

  • You grant that access yourself, through the provider's own login and consent environment; we never receive or store your password for that provider.
  • We use device data (such as charge level, range, odometer, and charging status of your car(s)) solely to create and improve your plan. We use your car's location only to confirm the car is at one of your own charge points; we do not track or store location history.
  • You can disconnect a link at any time in the Service. You can also withdraw your consent with the provider itself (e.g. the privacy settings of your account with your car manufacturer or HEMS).
  • You warrant that you are authorised to connect the car(s), charge point, and other systems and to have them controlled by the Service — including, for example, when you drive a lease car or share a system with housemates.
  • Your use of third-party APIs and systems is also subject to those parties' terms.

6. Price, payment, duration, and cancellation

The price, payment method, and initial term of your subscription are stated when you enter into the agreement. After the initial term, the agreement continues for an indefinite period and you can cancel monthly. You can cancel in the same way you entered into the agreement, or by e-mail.

If you do not pay on time, you will first receive a reminder with a fourteen-day term. If payment is still not made, statutory interest and collection costs may become due, and we may suspend the Service after notice until payment is made.

We may change prices; a price change will not take effect earlier than three months after the agreement was entered into and will be announced in advance. If you do not agree with a price increase, you can cancel free of charge before it takes effect.

7. Right of withdrawal

If you enter into the agreement online as a consumer, you may withdraw from it within 14 days of conclusion without giving a reason. If you want the Service to start immediately, you can expressly consent to that; if you then withdraw within the withdrawal period, you pay pro rata for the period in which the Service was provided. You can withdraw by e-mailing info@ideasatwork.nl.

8. Availability, changes, and pilot features

We do our best to keep the Service available and up to date but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Plans depend on the availability and accuracy of third-party data (such as energy prices, weather forecasts, device and car data, and HEMS data); we do not guarantee specific cost savings, nor that your car will have a particular charge level at any given moment. Please plan yourself for usage outside your normal pattern. No rights can be derived from plans calculated by the Service or from energy and charging information it displays.

We may change the Service or discontinue parts of it; we will inform you of substantial changes in good time via the Service or by e-mail. If a change is materially to your disadvantage, you can cancel free of charge before the date the change takes effect.

Features marked as pilot or beta are offered to improve them together with users; they may behave differently and may change or be discontinued without notice.

AI Act status

The planning and control logic described in Section 2 is rule-based and optimisation-based; it does not use machine-learning inference to decide the instructions sent to your connected systems. Based on our own assessment, the Service does not meet the definition of a "high-risk AI system" under Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 (the AI Act). You stay in control of that logic: see Section 2 for how you authorise instructions, and above in this section for the disclaimers that apply to the plans it produces.

9. Force majeure

We are not required to perform if performance is impossible due to circumstances beyond our control, including failures or outages at third parties (such as energy price data, manufacturer APIs, HEMS platforms, or hosting), power or network failures, and government measures. If the force majeure lasts longer than thirty days, either party may terminate the agreement without owing compensation.

10. Liability

Our liability for damage is limited to direct damage and to the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the event. This limitation does not apply to damage resulting from death or personal injury, or damage caused by intent or deliberate recklessness of ideas at work bv. We are not liable for indirect damage, such as missed savings or consequential damage caused by incorrect or missing data from connected systems or third parties. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under mandatory law.

11. End of the agreement

When the agreement ends, your access to the Service stops. Your data will be deleted or anonymised in accordance with the retention periods in our privacy statement. On request, we will provide you with an export of your data in a common format within thirty days after the end.

12. Privacy

How we handle your personal data is described in our privacy statement. We never sell personal data and do not use it for advertising; we use it solely to provide and improve the Service, as described in the privacy statement.

13. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and documentation, remains the property of ideas at work bv or its licensors. You receive a personal, non-transferable right of use for the duration of your agreement.

14. Business users

If you use the Service not as a consumer but in the course of a profession or business, article 7 (right of withdrawal) and the consumer provisions of article 6 do not apply, and deviating arrangements may be agreed in writing.

15. Changes to these terms

We may amend these terms, for example for new features or legislative changes. The current version is always on this page; we will inform you of material changes in good time via the Service or by e-mail. If a change is not in your favour, you can cancel the agreement free of charge before the date the change takes effect.

16. Complaints

Do you have a complaint about the Service? E-mail info@ideasatwork.nl. We will confirm receipt and aim to respond substantively within 14 days.

17. Governing law and language

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. These terms are drawn up in Dutch and English; in case of differences, the Dutch version prevails.
